DigiD English

DigiD stands for Digital Identity and is the combination of a personal username and password. DigiD is used as a valid identification method on internet. This way organisations and the Dutch authorities know that they are in contact with you.

How does it work?

With a personal DigiD you can for example arrange the following matters: 

  • Dog taxes;  
  • Apply for child benefits;  
  • Register in the Dutch Donor register; 
  • Arrange services in your municipality;  
  • Arrange matters regarding your health insurance;

What should I do?

You can apply for a personal DigiD through the website: www.digid.nl/en/. For doing this, it is necessary that you are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP).
