Disabled parking space
A disabled parking space is a parking spot for people with physical disabilities. Other drivers are not allowed to park their cars here.
You can apply for your own disabled parking space near your home or workplace through the municipality. You will then get a reserved parking spot where only the vehicle with your license plate is allowed to park.
How does it work?
You can apply for your own disabled parking space under the following conditions:
You are the driver
- For a disabled parking space near your home, you are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at that address.
- For a disabled parking space near your workplace, you have a statement from your employer that you work there.
- The vehicle’s license plate is in your name or in the name of your housemate.
- If the license plate is in the name of a leasing company or business, you have a statement from the license holder that you are the daily driver.
- You have a disabled parking card.
- You do not have your own parking facility, such as a garage or driveway.
You are the passenger
- You cannot be left alone at your home when the driver picks up and parks the car.
- You are always dependent on the driver’s help for door-to-door transportation.
- There are no possibilities to get in or out of the car in front of your home or workplace.
- You are registered in the Personal Records Database (BRP) at the same address as the driver of the car.
- The car’s license plate is in your name or in the name of the driver.
- If the license plate is in the name of a leasing company or business, you have a statement from the license holder that the driver is the daily user of the car.
- You have a disabled parking card.
- You do not have your own parking facility, such as a garage or driveway.
How long does it take?
Within 8 weeks you will receive a reply from the municipality. After that it will take several weeks before the parking space is constructed.
